In addition to taking the written knowledge exam, you’ll also need to take a vision test and a road sign test at your local MSHP examination office. Don’t forget to bring proof of identification, residence, and social security number, as well as the $3.50 for your physical permit. Your permit will be valid for 12 months, and to move on to your intermediate license, if you’re still a minor, there will be a $7.50 license fee.
